Two digits!

My little baby girl is 10 years old. I'll have to put up pics later but I wanted to post now since I'm already a day late! She will have her party next weekend but we celebrated as a family with her yesterday. I sat down with her and went through her baby book. I thought that Joseph was my smallest baby at 3 weeks early but nope- Sarah was 3oz lighter a week past my due date! She liked hearing her first few words (one of which was poop, lol) and about her favorite songs and books and how we felt when she was born. Since I am doing her fun halloween cake next weekend, she opted to have Apple Crisp with vanilla ice cream instead. So we had our usual Sunday pizza and a yummy dessert. She opened presents from Peter and I (a pink MP3 player which she already used this morning when the thunder was scaring her), from Great Great Grandma Honeycutt (a beautiful opal ring and necklace- her birthstone), and from my parents (a Hannah Montana Wii game). Sarah is such a sweet, tender girl. I am so glad that she is my first because boy do I need her! She is such a little mother that I have to remind her that they are MY babies and that she can go be a kid for a while longer ;) Throughout the day you can usually find Sarah riding her bike around the block, reading a good book (she is in the middle of both the 6th Harry Potter and 2nd Fablehaven- she reads each in turn every other day), making some jewelry with beads, sewing something for one of her stuffed animals from scraps she finds, crocheting, or playing with her siblings. I remember when I went into labor with her (Jen- I think you called me that night but I couldn't talk to you) and went to the hospital almost right away- I knew nothing- the staff told me it would be a LONG while before she was born. About 30 minutes before she was born they were still telling me that there was NO way this baby was going to be born that night. Well, 10 minutes before midnight she arrived. She slept through the night the very first week we brought her home. I remember being awake in the morning and finally waking her up at 9am because I thought it was just strange that she would sleep so long! She's always been in sort of a hurry to grow up. 3 of my kids have started walking before they were even 9 months old (I tried to stop them, lol!) but she started it. We love you Sarah! I'm so glad that you are my girl forever!

Wow, Happy Birthday Sarah! Nicoles turn for 10 comes in 4 wks! We might just scrap the whole Halloween bday party thing and take the money saved on a party and go to the American Girl store - which is one of the things she wants so badly:)
You are truly blessed Lena! Have a great day!
